Review: Star Trek: Countdown #1 A-
| Writer: Tim Jones & Mike Johnson Penciler: David Messina From a story by: JJ Abrams, Roberto Orci & Alex Kurtzman |
Star Trek: Countdown is a prequel for the upcoming J.J. Abrams Star Trek film. Which of course means it is set about 80 years after the movie! As we already know about the film, the villain is a Romulan named Nero whom travels back in time to cause havoc. This issue introduces Nero and lets us know what Ambassador Spock has been up to, since we last saw him in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode, Reunification. The story is pretty interesting, but it is the final page that really will catch your attention and have you saying "Whahuh?"
