Review: Sgt Rock: The Lost Battalion issue #4 A+
| Writer: Billy Tucci Artist: Billy Tucci Publisher: DC Comics Price: $2.99 |
The story really ramps up, this issue, as help starts to arrive, on two fronts. In the air, Thunderbolts from the 405th fly through zero visibility to drop supplies. On the ground, the Japanese-American regiment works its way through the woods. Both groups suffer losses as does the lost battalion, as German artillery and tank fire rips apart everything in its path.
Last November, I posted about Billy Tucci's appearance at Wizard World Texas. He brought with him Lieutenant Colonel Eliel Archilla. He was one of the pilots that risked his life to deliver supplies to the lost battalion. Lieutenant Colonel Archilla makes his appearance in this issue.
Tucci's art is truly outstanding, in this book. Every character looks like a real person, every weapon looks like a real weapon, and the reader can almost feel the cold as the sleet falls and the characters breathe fog. This will be an absolutely beautiful and must have hardback volume, when it is complete.
