Review: Secret Six #7 A
| Writer: Gail Simone Penciler: Nicola Scott Inker: Doug Hazlewood Colorist: Jason Wright Publisher: DC Comics Price: $2.99 |
When I got past the last page and saw the preview information about the next issue, with the big SECRET SIX #8 text, I was a little stunned. I had to flip back to the front cover to confirm that this was indeed issue #7. So much has happened in this book that I was sure we were at least 12 issues into the story. Secret Six is non-stop action AND non-stop character development AND non-stop killer artwork.
The last issue ended with Mr. Floyd Lawton (Deadshot) betraying his teammates, stealing the 'get out of hell free' card and fleeing the scene. But things aren't necessarily what they seemed. Deadshot, with a wounded Bane and a kidnapped Tarantula in tow, heads to Gotham. Scandal, Catman, and Ragdoll are in pursuit. But after them all is just about every C or D list villain in the DC universe - all after the reward for the card. The big fight happens on the bridge into Gotham. There is one amazing splashpage, as the villains attack, that I would absolutely love to own.
Every month I review this title and praise the teamup of Gail Simone and Nicola Scott. They are one of the best teams in comics, today. If you are not reading this book, you are missing out on a great read.
