| Writer: Robert Kirkman Artist: Ryan Ottley Publisher: Image Price: $3.99 |
This issue is Robert Kirkman's attempt to do a big summer even in one issue. I have mixed feelings about whether or not he succeeded. The story was just so over the top that I couldn't get emotionally invested. There wasn't any sense that anything that happened meant anything. There wasn't a plot. It wasn't a story - it was more of an occurrence.
Where I have no ambiguity is in my feelings about the art. I've enjoyed Ryan Ottley's work on the title since he started, but this book was a tour de force, for him. 32 pages of violent battles featuring almost every character in the Image arsenal. Be sure to click on the cover thumbnail, above, to get a larger view of Ottley's work.
Regardless, the events of this book will certainly influence the title for the near future.
