Review: Justice League of America #31 D
| writer: Dwayne McDuffie Artist: Shane Davis Publisher: DC Price: $2.99 |
Regular readers of DC comics will recognize that, over the last two years, DC seems to have abandoned proof-reading. Spelling mistakes abound, covers sometimes have the wrong creator names, word bubbles sometimes point at the wrong person. It really is quite shockingly bad. This issue opens with a new one. Zatanna, in two separate panels, calls Wonder Woman Dinah. Dinah is Black Canary.
Once past that scene we get to a scene where Dinah (not Wonder Woman) is chastising Hal and Ollie for something they did. Their action is responsible for everything that happens in this issue. It's a big deal. Do we know much about it? No. We're just presented with a footnote that reads "*For the full story of GL's team, be sure to pick up the Justice League: A Cry for Justice mini-series coming this July." It's March. The Justice League is falling apart and we have to just accept that and wait until July to get an indication of why. Has DC also abandoned scheduling and planning?
On the bright side, the issue features nice art from Shane Davis. On the not so bright side, this run of the Justice League has been a failure.
