Follow up:
Deadpool, when done right, is a hilarious character. His inner monologue and delusions are hysterical. He is done right in this title. This is my first exposure to this creative team, but they appear well chosen. Gishler has Deadpool's voice down pat and Dazo's cheeky art is perfect for the story.
Deadpool has been hired by A.I.M. to retrieve a hazardous cargo from the Savage Land. I don't want to spoil what that cargo is, but the cover kind of gives it away. I can't wait for the next issue to see Deadpool's response.
The one question I have is whether Deadpool really needs a second ongoing title? Could this story have not been told in his regular series? Does Marvel see Deadpool as the new Wolverine?
The comic also includes a reprint of Deadpool #4 from 1997.
